JESSA LOUISIANA ZOOM
by John Moorehouse
Winning restricted graded stakes races in the state of Louisiana is becoming a habit for Jessa Louisiana Zoom. The sophomore filly tallied her third victory in that category, making a strong finish to take the $50,000 Treme Stakes-RG3 at Fair Grounds on Aug. 20.
Starting from the outside gate in a seven-horse field, Jessa Louisiana Zoom broke well, remaining right with early leader Corona Together into the stretch and then surpassing her rival to reach the fin- ish line first sporting a 1/2-length margin.
Kenneth Roberts, Sr., trains Jessa Louisiana Zoom, who completed the 350-yard event in :17.388 and posted a 97 speed index. Donald Watson was aboard as the filly captured a $30,000 payday that pushed her total earnings to $605,107.
Bobby D. Cox owns Jessa Louisiana Zoom, who holds six victories in 10 career outs including the 2015 Lee Berwick Futurity-RG1 and the 2015 LQHBA Lassie Futurity-RG2. This was the filly’s first stakes win since Cox purchased her.
Lyle Guillory bred Jessa Louisiana Zoom, who is easily the most accomplished starter out of her dam, Zoomin For Cash, a winning mare who qualified to the 2009 Ruidoso Derby-G1.
Corona Together (Coronas Leaving You- Jesstogether) finished second by a nose for owner Joseph Landreneau and trainer Kelli Smith. Rolando Cabrera was aboard. Zoominforgrady (Zoomin
For Bux-Supers First Jewel) took third place. The gelding is owned by Triple C Racing Stables,
LLC, trained by Guadalupe Tristan and had Juan Marquez in the irons.
Miss Mallard Struts (Struttin To Beduino-Miss Mallard), Super Sonic Patriot (Jet Black Patriot- Totally Selfish TB), Magic Black Jack (Jet Black Patriot-Stoli Alikat) and Jet Black Rogue (Jet Black Patriot-Miss Jess Rogue) completed the field.

OAK HILL STREAK
by John Moorehouse
Oak Hill Streak is on quite a streak of her own. The four-year-old filly notched her fourth straight victory, winning the $50,000 Audubon
Stakes at Fair Grounds on Aug. 20.
After breaking mid-pack from the 4-gate, jockey
Gilbert Ortiz wasted little time getting Oak Hill Streak to the front of the seven-horse field. The filly led by a head at the first call and widened her separa- tion at every remaining juncture to win by 3/4-length.
Owned by Vanessa Bartoo, Oak Hill Streak began her streak on Feb. 12 at Hialeah and now has won three consecutive stakes events—a run that included the May 6 Louisiana Purchase Stakes and the July 9 Flashy Hemp Stakes at Delta Downs. The $30,000 payday from this event pushed her total earnings to $146,610. Oak Hill Streak now holds seven total victories in 11 starts.
John Stinebaugh trains Oak Hill Streak, who com- pleted the 350-yard out in :17.482 for a 95 speed index.
Arnold Trahan bred Oak Hill Streak and owns her dam, Streakin Amber, who holds a stakes victory in the 2006 Evangeline Downs Futurity. She has produced 100% money earners from seven starters. Oak Hill Streak is her top money earner and joins half-sister Maxed Out Game as the second stakes winner in the brood.
RBD Jessaswingin (Swingin Jess-Furby) finished a game second under Alfonso Lujan for owner Jaime Gutierrez and trainer Guadalupe Garza, Jr. Martin Trejo owns and trains Scooter Prize (First Prize Perry-Royal Baby Scooter), who finished third. David Alvarez was in the irons.
First Corona Down (Coronas Leaving You- Bammies Jewel), Telarosa (Jet Black Patriot- Presumptuous TB), Corona And Jewels (Coronas Leaving You-Martinis Jewel) and Heza No Bay (Heza Fast Dash-Reckless Renee) followed. Jet Black Rogue scratched.

FIRST PRIZE DENIM
by Dillon Hamilton
First Prize Denim showed why he was the odds-on favorite in the field with a wire-to-wire win in the $50,000 Mid-City Stakes-RG3 at the Fair Grounds
for accredited Louisiana-bred 3-year-old and older horses on Sept. 3.
The 3-year-old sorrel gelding built an early lead from the gate. He lost some ground late, but his long drive saw him outlast any contenders, winning by a nose and narrow margin of three one-thousandths of a second. First Denim Prize has been riding under Manuel Gutierrez since June, and the undefeated pair recorded a time of :19.653 over 400 yards and a career best 103 speed index.
The win brought First Prize Denim’s earnings to $319,256 for owners Double H Racing Investment, LLC. He continues to bring home the bacon in 2016 with this year’s earnings at $161,215 and three con- secutive wins. Martin Trejo trains the gelding.
Weetona Stanley bred First Prize Denim in Oklahoma out of winner First Prize Diamond. She has produced 100% money earners from seven start- ers including multiple stakes winner PYC First Prize Mia and stakes placers First Prize Jet and First Prize Diamonds. First Prize Denim is her top money earner.
Heza Louisiana Dash (Heza Fast Dash- Eyejesslovelouisiana) surged late under Gilbert Ortiz, but missed the win by a nose after a bobbled start. The 4-year-old brown gelding finished second for owners T M Ranch and trainer Kenneth Roberts, Sr.
TM Dees Prize (Fast Prize Dash-Call Her Dee) finished third under David Alvarez for owner Humberto Amaro and trainer Juan Carrillo, Jr.
Heza Bell Perry (Heza Fast Dash-De Bell
Perry), Icanonlyemagine (Swingin Jess-Real Or Imagined), LD Streakin N Leavin (Coronas Leaving You-Streakin Juanita), Strong Guns (Strong Hope- Gunslinger Girl), and Heza Fast Wokatee (Heza Fast Dash-Wokatee) completed the order of finish.
