KR STREAKIN VERSION

KR Streakin Version just seems to get better with age. The veteran eight-year-old gelding extended his current winning streak to three races with a
1-length victory in the $19,981 Zoetis Evergreen Park Distance Challenge at Grande Prairie on Aug. 28.
Laurie Ferguson trains KR Streakin Version for owners Marvin Christensen and Richard Aldoff. The gelding drew the inside starting gate and broke third, then ran a close second at the first call. Jockey Freddy Fuentes got KR Streakin Version in front and held a strong 2-length lead as he entered the stretch and still beat his closest competitor to the finish line by daylight.
KR Streakin Version finished the 870-yard out in hand timed :45.474, clocking a 102 speed index on a muddy track while running into a 10 mph crosswind. The gelding brought home a $9,988 payday that improved his total earnings to $85,960. This win also qualified KR Streakin Version for the Distance Chal. Champ. to be held Oct. 29 at Los Alamitos.
KR Streakin version was bred in Montana by breeders Hermstad, Perry and Kyler out of the unraced Streakin Miss Tina. Multiple stakes winner KR Streakin Version is her only runner from six foals. The gelding was coming off a win in the June 16 Black Gold Distance Classic at Northlands Park. He also won the 2015 Evergreen Distance Challenge and the 2013 Evergreen Championship Challenge.
Asbigastexas (Birdzilla TB-Sables Val) finished second under Scott Sterr for owner Deanne Davies and trainer Robert Gwilliam. Stole Away (Stoli- Jess Go) hit the board in third under Jose Rocha. The gelding’s connections include owner Donalda Cochrane, who also trains the gelding.
Tequila Tuesday (Coronas Fast Dash-Keep On Keepin On) finished fourth and was followed by Awise Secret (No Secrets Here-Awise Lady) and KR Howdoyoulikemenow (Scrutinizer-KR Check Me Out).
Minnesota Futurity
VODKA AT MOONLIGHT

Trainer Jason Olmstead was the conditioner for the first and second place finishers in the 350-yard Minnesota Futurity at Canterbury Park on Aug.
21. Olmstead has won 3 out of the 4 career starts that Vodka At Moonlight has made, the latest in
this her first stakes victory. Vodka At Moonlight stepped away from the 2-post on the lead under
Nik Goodwin and she went wire-to-wire, finishing
a head in front and stopping the clock in :18.008
for a 91 speed index. The futurity carried a purse of $49,300 and the $24,650 winner’s share takes Vodka At Moonlight’s earnings of $48,060.
The black filly, who also finished 2nd in the Minnesota Stallion Breeders’ Futurity earlier this year, is bred/owned by Summer Run, Inc. Vodka At Moonlight was bred in Minnesota out of Moonlight Masquerade, winner of the 2010 Minnesota Stallion Breeders’ Derby, third in the 2009 Minnesota Stallion Breeders’ Futurity, and a finalist in the 2010 Canterbury Derby Challenge-G3. Vodka At Moonlight is her first starter.
PYC Jess Bite Mydust (Apollitical Jess-Paint Or More), the heavy favorite, finished second. Brayan Velazquez made a late rush with the gelding to earn second place money for owner Lunderborg, LLC and trainer Jason Olmstead. The gelding was coming off of two consecutive wins.
Jess A Chance (Jess Jones-Unlika Angel) finished third under Trevino Clark, Jr. for owner Ralph A. Haglund and trainer Randall Weidner. The gelding finished third in July 10 Minnesota Breeders’ Futurity.
Wallykazam (Ivory James-Alikazam), BBS PYC Luckycharm (PYC Paint Your Wagon-Babblin Brook), Givinitalittleeffort (Givinitaroyaleffort-A Dream Chick) and Inclined To Dash (More Nachos-Inclinda) completed the field. Its Crunch Time was scratched.
Minnesota Derby
EYRA HAYES

The 400-yard Minnesota Derby, for 3 year old Minnesota breds, was run at Canterbury Park on Aug. 21. Owner Terry Reed and trainer Jerry Livingston had two hit the board in the Derby.
Eyra Hayes and jockey Chase Clark broke third from the 9-gate and fell back to fifth place at first call. Jockey Chase Clark kept his mount straight and his mind in the game and the team led by a head in the stretch and finished a neck in front.
The sorrel gelding stopping the timer at :20.382 to earn an 88 speed index in his first stakes win. The $25,150 winner’s share of the $50,300 purse boosted Eyra Hayes’ total earnings to $48,408.
Connections for Eyra Hayes include owner/ breeder Terry Reed and trainer Jerry Livingston.
Reed bred Eyra Hayes in Minnesota out of the 3-time Grade 3 winner Silver Fastbac. The mare has produced 100% winners from three starters. Eyra Hayes is her first stakes winner and top money earner.
SR Ur Fired (Teller Cartel-Zoomshakalaka) had the first call and was able to hold on for the second place check. His team includes owner Summer Run, Inc. and trainer Jason Olmstead. Brayan Velazquez was in the irons.
Gramma Ella (Knud With Wings- Whereshesupposedtobe) finished third under jockey Marcus Swiontek. Her connections include owner Terry Reed and trainer Jerry Livingston.
Avoid The Drama (Sixes Royal-Baby Minnie) finished fourth and was followed by Blacks Cartel (Streakin Six Cartel-Brandi Whiz), Squirt Guns (Zoomin For Bux-Garters N Guns) who was DQ’d from 5th to 6th, V Os Filo (PYC Paint Your Wagon- Miss Eyewear), I Am The Doctor (Love My M. D. TB-Aint No Game), Dashing Good Reason (Good Reason SA-Dashing Mariah) and Moon Me Chick (First Moonflash-A Dream Chick).
