   Texas Twister Stakes, Div. 1
CC MISS YIN YOU
by John Moorehouse
CC Miss Yin You definitely hit the mark in Division 1 of the $15,000 Texas Twister Stakes. Competing in the 110-yard sprint, A.D. Maddox’s
mare reached the wire first in a photo finish to col- lect her fourth victory in 12 total outs and first-ever triumph in stakes company.
A good break means everything in short-distance races. CC Miss Yin You got away from the No. 3 gate cleanly, but failed to break on top. Nonetheless, jockey Luis Ramirez urged the mare to quickly close the gap and she outnodded favored Texas Kool at the wire.
James Gerhards trains CC Miss Yin You, who completed the sprint in :6.854 and registered a career-high 108 speed index. The mare also more than doubled her career bankroll, capturing a $9,000 prize that improved her total earnings to $17,912.
Bred by Cindi Colbath, CC Miss Yin You becomes the first stakes winner out of her dam, Miss Super Tech, who is owned by David Colbath. A 1992 mare with four wins in 17 starts, Miss Super Tech has produced nine foals, seven starters and five winners.
The sloppy track didn’t slow down any of the top three finishers in the race, who all tallied speed indices of 106 or greater. Texas Kool’s owner Marina Nino had to settle for the runner-up share of the purse. A Juan Saucedo trainee, Texas Kool (First N Kool-Kalynna) had Eleazar Hernandez in the irons while matching the 108 index clocked by CC Miss Yin You. Shineys Magic T (Dreams Work-Oh My Shesa Dream) hit the board in third for Margaret White. Jesse Yoakum trains the gelding, and Jerry Yoakum drew the riding assignment.
RB Rockin Shake (Royal Shake Em-Royal Rockin), Sheza Fast Version (Latest Version-Sheza Fast Image), Silver For Me (Corona For Me-Silver Poupon) and Soy Kapaz (Strike The Cash-Royal TN Troubles) completed the order of finish. Charal Kid was scratched.

LITTLE EYE OPENER
by John Moorehouse
Little Eye Opener followed in the footsteps of her dam, Little Kool Barbie, by becoming a stakes winner on April 20 at Sam Houston Race Park in the
$15,000 second division of the Texas Twister Stakes. Little Kool Barbie won the 2005 Texas Derby
Challenge-G3. Little Eye Opener is her first stakes winner from 14 foals. Of her five starters, four are winners including Little Eye Opener, who was bred by Ramiro and Armando Lopez.
Prepped by Jeff Acuna, Little Eye Opener made a tremendous break out of the No. 7 gate and dashed away from the rest of the field to win the 110-yard Texas Twister by three-quarters of a length. Jockey Eleazar Guillen was aboard as Little Eye Opener registered a career-best 110 speed index.
Little Eye Opener collected her fourth win in 13 starts for her owners at J and B Rental, and the $9,000 payday swelled her lifetime earnings to $30,602. This marked her third straight victory,
a winning streak that began Jan. 28 at Louisiana Downs in a 300-yard allowance and continued at a 250-yard overnight on March 13 at that same track.
Corona Mistress (Corona For Me-Fastmans Mistress) placed second for owner Guadalupe Garcia and trainer Alonzo Loya. Jockey Manuel Gutierrez rode. Executive Tone, the betting favorite and win- ner of a division of the 2011 Texas Twister, settled for third this time. Filimon Saucedo is the owner and Juan Saucedo the trainer. Eleazar Hernandez rode Executive Tone (Executive Menace-Im Color Fast), who was making his first out since last May.
The remaining order of finish was Prime Idol (Prime Talent-Yadazoom), Eyesa Royality (Royal Shake Em-Eyesa Jumpn), Evans Express (Tres Seis-Delightful Evan), Eyesa Special Peach (Special Red Warrior-Count Down Now), Red Roquette (Brimmerton-Dashin Dee Dee) and Jess Imagine (Mr Jess Perry-Sheza First Down).

THE HOT LIST
by John Moorehouse
The Hot List was only a few months old when the standing 110-yard track record of :6.807 was set by XO Kate on Aug. 23, 2008 at Sam Houston Race Park. On April 20, The Hot List broke that mark, covering the distance in :6.736 in Division 3 of the $15,000 Texas Twister Stakes.
Owned by Eleazar Martinez, The Hot List also picked up his fourth win in six total outs and his first in stakes company. All four of the colt’s career victories have taken place at Sam Houston. He definitely looked comfortable in this stakes sprint, breaking on top out of the one hole and remaining in front for the entirety of the event. None of the other competitors had an answer as The Hot List posted a solid three-quarters of a length margin of victory.
Yasmine Fierro trains The Hot List, who had jockey Luis Vivanco aboard. The win produced a $9,000 payday that nearly doubled the colt’s lifetime earnings to a new total of $18,912.
Robert and Karen Nunnally bred The Hot List out of Short List, a 1997 mare. Four of Short List’s nine foals are starters, but The Hot List becomes the first member of the brood to win a stakes race.
RC Grimm (Gol-Gypsys Double) placed second for owner Thomas Bradfield and trainer Edelmiro Carrizales. Jose Alvarez was in the irons. Special Yuma Warrior (Special Red Warrior-Mystic Lilly) finished third by a neck. The 6-year-old gelding is owned by Jesus Rodriguez Jr. and trained by Brian Stroud. Luis Ramirez did the riding.
Trampstamp (Shazoom-Check The
Account) and RC Hadtobemovin (Hadtobenuts- Movinstraighttoglory) finished in a deadheat for fourth. Glorys Patriot (Game Patriot-Shazooms Glory), BS Let Freedom Run (Prime Talent-Jodys Lil Train), Unknown Source (Feature Mr Jess-Ladys A Special Star) and Massima (Tres Seis-Kitty First) completed the field.
