DTL CHASIN TALE

DTL Chasin Tale only has made three outs thus far, and he already has two stakes wins to his credit after he added a 3/4-length victory in the $25,579
Victoria Ennis Memorial for Paints and Appaloosa, held at Remington Park on April 27.
DTL Teel Partnership owns the two-year-old gelding, who banked a $14,985 payday that pushed his total earnings to $78,993. DTL Chasin Tale made a false break, getting away from the 9-gate a bit late, but gained ground in a hurry. The gelding had the lead by the time he entered the stretch, and the even-money favorite pulled away during the final yards. He finished his 330-yard trip in :16.779 for a 90 speed index, benefiting from a 12 mph tailwind.
Matt Whitekiller trains DTL Chasin Tale, who had Cody Smith aboard. Smith has ridden DTL Chasin Tale on each of his career outs. The trainer and jockey also successfully combined to win the American Paint Classic Futurity-G1 later on the April 27 card.
Dean and Tonya Lester, who co-own DTL Chasin Tale, also bred the gelding out of APHA World Champion Shez Showin Odd.
Banking On Kool APHA (Kool Wagon QH-Thank The Bank) finished second for owner/ trainer Roberto Duenes. Gaspar Garcia did the riding.
Lovin de Capo APHA (Capo de Capi QH-A Little Lovin) finished in third. Eddie D. Willis owns and trains the gelding, who had Justine Klaiber aboard.
The remaining order of finish was Bodacious Ben APHA (Bodacious Dash QH-Snowdacious), PHQ Apollitical Jess APHA (Apollitical Jess QH-PHQ Princess Stefanie), Onlycloverofmine APHA (Capo de Capi QH-Onlytreasureofmine), Road House Queen APHA (Cartel Success QH-Awesome Mistres), JS Kool Hand Luke APHA (Kool Wagon QH-Linda Lajolla) and Catch This Kitty APHA (Panther Mountain QH-Miami Moon). Flashing Tosa scratched.

PIRATE COVES HERO

A$7,500 claim at Remington Park in May 2018, Julio Francisco Villar Torres’ Pirate Coves Hero became a stakes winner in the $46,657 Bank of America Turf Paradise Challenge on April 28.
Pirate Coves Hero defeated 9-5 favorite Jess Move You by a head while making his quarter-mile trip in :21.407 against a reported 12-mph head wind. Emilio Tapia rode Pirate Coves Hero for trainer Jesus Olivas.
In addition to posting a 106 speed index and earning the $20,996 winner’s share of a purse, Pirate Coves Hero landed a berth in the $250,000 Bank of America Challenge Championship-G1 at Albuquerque Downs on Oct. 26.
The gelding was bred in Oklahoma by Reliance Ranches LLC, and he was making his first official start since Aug. 12, when he ran eighth in the 400-yard $20,000 Rocky Mountain Quarter Horse Championship at Arapahoe Park near Denver.
Pirate Coves Hero has won five of 12 races and has banked $62,678. The Bank of America Turf Paradise Championship Challenge marked his first start against stakes company and first out at the 440- yard distance.
Jess Move You (Apollitical Jess-Gonna Move You) was second. The 4-year-old sorrel gelding earned $9,331 for owners Ricardo A. Bernal and Reymundo F. Resendez. Alonso Rivera rode Jess Move You for trainer Alvaro Hinojos. Jess A Cowboy (Dejon-Secret Return) finished third for owner Larry Stark. Mark Jasso rode the homebred 7-year-old gelding for trainer Matt Fales. Followed by Beduinos Royalcorona (Corona Cartel-Straw Flying Lady), Walk It Man (Walk Thru Fire-Attack The Cartel), May Be Fantastic SA (Fantastic Corona Jr-Darlin Treis), Movin The Doe (Maknmoves-Bundle Doe), Texas Tornadoe (Texas Icon-Its A Dry Heat),

FAVORITE LATIN LOVER

Fastest qualifier from the April 6 trials, Favorite Latin Lover walked into the 5-post for the start of the $41,800 Desert Classic Futurity finals at Turf
Paradise on April 28 for his second career start. The sorrel colt broke in fourth position under
rider Emilio Tapia, but quickly grabbed the lead and had a head margin at the top of the stretch. Favorite Latin Lover drew away from his rivals to cross the wire 1 3/4-length in front. He completed the 300 yards in 15.368 to earn a 101 speed index.
The colt brought home the $20,900 winner’s share of the purse for owner/trainer Rigoberto Guillen, boosting his lifetime earnings to $22,741. He is currently undefeated in two starts.
S. Burns/P. Jones/Thompson Racing Inc. bred Favorite Latin Lover out of 5-time winner Jess Charming. She has produced 100% money earners from nine starters, including top earner Twenty
One Gunz, who was a runner-up in the 2017 Los Alamitos Two Million Juvenile Stakes. Favorite Latin Lover is her first stakes winner.
Ms Patty Cake (Texas Icon-Shiftin) ran third in her trial heat and had the third fastest time. In the finals, she finished second under Rick Oliver for owners Ralph and Carolyn Fales & trainer Matthew Fales.
Old School Icon (Texas Icon-Cozie Fire) came in with the second fastest time and was able to hold on in the finals to take third for owner Martha F. Wells and trainer Matthew Fales. Mark Jasso was in the saddle.
Separate Delight (Seperate Interest-Truly A Delightful) was fourth and was followed by Fashin Icon (Texas Icon-Icebreaker), Man On Fire 727 (The Bounty Man-JDS Spitfire), Caramelo P (One Sweet Jess-Agouti), El Infierno (Texas Icon-It’s a Dry Heat TB) and Dales Cash (Dale Schism-Cash Of Matty). Le Preciosa Luna was scratched.
