Rustys Miracle earned herself a victory in the Rainbow Juvenile at Ruidoso Downs on July 22. With Sergio Becerra Jr. aboard, Rustys Miracle
popped out of the inside post on top in the 400-yard Juvenile. Though she drifted out a bit late, she still scored by a 1/2-length in :19.692.
J & SM Inc. purchased Rustys Miracle at the 2017 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale from the Lazy E Ranch consignment. The filly broke her maiden at SunRay Park and won two trials at Ruidoso.
The $42,967 share brought her total bankroll to $63,834, just over the $61,000 she cost as a yearling.
Bob and Jerry Gaston bred Rustys Miracle out
of unraced Rustys Lil Lady. The mare has produced 100% money earners from 11 starters, including Valiant Lil Lady, winner of the 2012 Texas Classic Futurity-G1 and the 2013 Bienvenido De Nuevo Stakes, and Bubba Carver, winner of the 2012 Hialeah El Nino Stakes, 2013 Ben E Keith Stakes and Retama Park Derby. Rustys Miracle becomes her third stakes winner.
Symbol Of Faith (Tac It Like A Man-Answer The Dream) finished second under James Flores for owners J. Garvan Kelly, Nancy Yearsley & J. Lloyd Yother and trainer Juan Aleman.
G.R. Carter Jr. rode Eagles First (One Famous Eagle-PYC First Prize Dash) to third for and owner SST Racing and trainer Blane Wood.
First Silk Dash V (First Down Dash-Silk Mountain) finished fourth, followed by Far Right (Apollitical Jess-Kansa Chick), Kamila (Dominyun- Blazin Fire), and Easy Politician (Apollitical Jess-Easeful Dinastia). Tempting Stone (Tempting Dash-Dreams For Lyndsie) finished eighth, but was disqualified and placed ninth, behind Flying Eagle 07 (One Famous Eagle-Tiny First Effort). American Hussle, Miss Blue October, and Our Favorite Sweet were scratched.

on Cartels Star Daddy, the gelding has won 3 races in a row. He moved up from claiming to allow- ance events, and now to stakes. The latest being the $50,000 Zia Handicap at Ruidoso Downs on July 29. Under jockey Raul Herrera, Cartels Star Daddy broke on top from the 5-post in front, and they stayed there throughout. The gray gelding had a 1/2-length lead at the first call and increased that to a length, crossing the wire with a 1-length margin. They completed their wire-to-wire 400 yard sprint in :19.607 to earn a 96 speed index.
The gelding brought home the $30,000 win- ner’s share for owner Martin Orona Sr. Cartels Star Daddy boosted his lifetime earnings to $136,044 with this win and his race record to 16-6(1)-2-2(1). The gelding was third in the $210,000 New Mexico Classic Derby-RG2 at Sunland Park last fall as well as fourth in the 2016 Zia Futurity-RG1.
Jimmy Negrete bred Cartels Star Daddy out of 2004 Cherry Creek Futurity-RG3 winner Chivato Star, who was also a finalist in the 2004 Mile High Futurity-G2. Chivato Star has produced 100% money earners from two starters. Cartels Star Daddy is her first stakes winner and top earner.
Multiple stakes finalist First Note Medley (First Moonflash-A Medley Of Chicks) was 2nd under Jose Ortiz for owner Benjamin Calderon & trainer Gabriel Gama.
Dream Bigg (Big Daddy Cartel-Three Dee Dreams) and Frank Reyes were 3rd for owner Christina D. Robinson & trainer Tony Sedillo.
Followed by Seeyalateralligator (Winners Version- Stars In My Eye), First Kool Moon (First Moonflash-Lilly Cartel), Cinco Menudos (Jesse James Jr-Uno Menudo), Mystic Daddy (Big Daddy Cartel-Arbor Mist) and Princess Jessie Jane (Jessie James Jr-A Scootin Princess). Hot Authorization and Swiss White Wine scratched.

asharp break from 9-post helped Uptown Dynasty score a wire-to-wire 1/2-length victory in the $100,000 Corona Cartel Stakes at Ruidoso Downs on July 21.
Racing for Melvin Neugebauer, Uptown Dynasty went 440 yards in :21.497. Jockey G.R. Carter Jr. rode the bay gelding for trainer Wes Giles.
Uptown Dynasty was bred by Sam W. Green out of 2012 Hialeah Lassie Futurity winner Ms Southern Dynasty. She has produced four winners from five starters. Uptown Dynasty is her first stakes winner and top money earner.
In addition to posting a season-best 93 speed index, Uptown Dynasty banked the $42,967 winner’s share of the Corona Cartel purse. The gelding has now won seven of 11 starts and has earned $720,136. His record includes a dead-heat victory with Eagle Jazz in last year’s $1-million Ruidoso Futurity-G1 and he was also second in the $1-million Rainbow Futurity-G1 and a finalist in the $3-million All American Futurity-G1.
MJR Investments Ltd.’s Wagon Chick V (PYC Paint Your Wagon-Sixy Chamisa) was second under Omar Reyes for trainer Clint Crawford.
Mister Moody Blue (One Famous Eagle-Run The Dash) and Splendid Cause (Apollitical Jess- Answer The Dream) finished in a dead heat for third. Adrian Ramos rode Mister Moody Blue for owners Butch Webb & Stephanie Webb and trainer Wes Giles, while James Flores rode Splendid Cause for owners J. Garvan Kelly, Nancy Yearsley, & J. Lloyd Yother and trainer Juan Aleman.
Intense Fire (Walk Thru Fire-Remember
Me Rose), Hierarchy (FDD Dynasty-Platinum Performance), First Be Graceful (First Down Dash- Thrill And Grace), Fly Baby Fly (One Famous Eagle- Higher Fire) and VF Zeus (Foose-Wheely Quick) completed the order of finish.
