DISCO WAGON

Disco Wagon scored his first stakes victory in the $78,450 Canterbury Derby on July 8.
Disco Wagon ran second to the fastest qualifier
in the June 24 trials and came into the finals with the fourth fastest time.
A blustery day greeted the finalists in the Canterbury Park Derby. Under Jorge Torres, the gelding broke from the 6-post in second. They remained in front throughout and crossed the wire 3/4-length in front of the competition.
Disco Wagon has yet to finish out of the money in eight lifetime starts, including three wins.
The $35,303 winner’s share of the purse went to owners Randy and Stacy Charette-Hill, who also trains the gelding. His total lifetime earnings are now $70,874.
Randy Hill & VWP Jr. Inc. bred Disco Wagon out of money earner Check This Disco. She has produced 100% money earners from six starters, including top earner Rockin Disco, winner of the 2012 Ruidoso Juvenile Challenge-G3 and the 2015 Remington Park Championship Challenge-G2. Disco Wagon is her second stakes winner.
DF Apollitical Sign (Apollitical Jess-Stolin Sign) finished second under Julian Serrano for owner Glacia Fagan and trainer Shawna Manriquez.
Eagle Deluxe (One Famous Eagle-Corona Deluxe) and Nakia Ramirez finished third for owners Tom and Bill Maher & Movin On. Jason Olmstead is the trainer.
A Jordon Reed (Jumpn Chic-Parr For Me), First Of 15 (Apollitical Jess-Tinys Corona Queen), Marfilmio (Ivory James-Sinuous), California Blossom (Desirio-Quiero Dinero), Minuscule Monster (Desirio-Streakin Miss Tina), Olivias Jett (Desirio-Hollie Jollie) and Painted Dynasty (FDD Dynasty-Tygers Painted Girl) completed the order of finish.

KOWBOY JIM

Kowboy Jim has nabbed his latest victory in the $49,410 Bank of America Canterbury Park Championship Challenge on July 4.
Ridden by Nakia Ramirez, Kowboy Jim came
out of the gate in second, but quickly forged to the lead, crossing the wire 3/4-length in front.
The team completed the 440 yards in :21.743 while posting a career-high 106 speed index.
“He loves training here,” said Ramirez. “In the morning he’s kicking and squealing on the way to the track.”
The $22,729 winner’s share of the purse boosted his total lifetime earnings to $130,138. He now has a race record of 15-6(2)-4(1)-2(1), including a victory in the 2017 Canterbury Park Derby.
Kowboy Jim has made it very clear that he prefers Canterbury Park to any other racetrack. All six of his lifetime victories have come at that track.
Dean Frey owns and trains Kowboy Jim. He bred the gelding out of Counting On You, a winner Frey trained and co-owned that produced 100% money earners from two starters. Kowboy Jim is her first stakes winner and top money earner.
Jorge Torres and Damn Strait (Dominyun- Hottesticketintown) finished second for owner M.C. Stucks and trainer Stacy Charette-Hill.
Bout Tree Fiddy (Ivory James-Hollie Jollie) and Brayan Velazquez were third for owner Carry “Rusty” Allred and Patrick Swan, who also trains the gelding.
AJs High (Apollitical Jess-Regally Rare), Faster Than Hasta (Hasta Be Fast-Leadmetoyourladder), Fast N Famous Jeans (One Famous Eagle-Fast Jeans), Okeyfreight (Freighttrain B-Okey Dokey Eyes),
Your Just Jesse (Jesse James Jr-Leadmetoyourladder), NSM Skydancer (PYC Paint Your Wagon- Jessthelouisianagirl), Pure Favorite (Favorite Cartel- Lucca) and Fowl Play (Royal Shake Em-Behavin Cartel) completed the order of finish.
Bob Morehouse Stakes
DICKEY BOB

Dickey Bob scored his second stakes win in the $40,100 Bob Morehouse Stakes at Canterbury Park on July 8.
The gelding stepped away from the 5-post in front and never relinquished his position. With Denny Velazquez in the irons, Dickey Bob ran a steady race.
They destroyed the field, finishing 1 1/2-lengths in front of the competition in a wire-to-wire victory. They completed the 350 yards in :17.879, posting
a career-high 96 speed index. Dickey Bob brought home the $20,050 winner’s share for owner/breeder Lunderborg LLC and trainer Jason Olmstead, boost- ing his total lifetime earnings $76,675.
This was the fifth career win for the gelding, who now has a race record of 12-5(2)-2-0. His other stakes victory was in the 2017 Minnesota Futurity.
Lunderborg LLC bred Dickey Bob out of stakes winner Paint Or More, who won the 2011 North Central QHRA Futurity and was third in the 2012 Canterbury Park Derby. The mare has produced 100% stakes winners from two starters, including top money earner PYC Jess Bite Mydust, winner
of the ‘16 Mystic Lake Northlands Futurity, ‘17 Minnesota Derby and ‘18 North Star State Stakes.
Rey D Arranque (Afterallitsme-Jazzing Jackie) and Marcus Swiontek were second for owner Eric Castro and trainer Randall Weidner. Stablemate and full brother PYC Jess Bite Mydust (Apollitical Jess-Paint Or More) was third under Cristian Esqueda for owner Lunderborg, LLC and trainer Jason Olmstead.
Curious James (Ivory James-Takin On The Crunch), Gramma Ella (Knud With Wings- Whereshessupposedtobe), Streak N Sparks (Azoom-Streak N Sierra), Itinkican Itinkican (Freighttrain B-Moonlight Masquerade) and Blacks Cartel (Streakin Six Cartel-Brandi Whiz) completed the order of finish. This Trains Rockin was scratched.
