by Tracy Gantz
Corona Springs has come close in stakes, but she had never managed to win one. That changed in 2018 at Canterbury Park, when she captured the

With Cristian Esqueda aboard, Corona Springs broke from the 8-gate in fourth. She came on steadily to take the lead and win by a 1/2-length in :19.766 for 400 yards. Her time earned her a career- high 106 speed index.

The 4-year-old filly broke from the 5-post a head
in front of the rest. She gave up the lead midway, but was able to stick her head in front at the wire. Ms Haulin Chic stopped the timer in :6.978 to earn a 99 speed index. Ismael Suarez Ricardo was aboard and has ridden the filly in seven of her last eight starts.
