Trainer Matt Frazier tried to tell people that LF Curly was better than the 24-1 odds she faced heading into the $188,200 Miss Roxie Little Futurity at Indiana Grand on Oct. 21.
“I told at least a dozen people on finals night she’d be at least a length better than she was
in the trials,” said Frazier. In the Oct. 7 trials, LF Curly finished third for the final qualifying position. LF Curly proved Frazier right.
“There were some big smiles and fist pumps when I turned around outside the winner’s circle, that’s for sure,” he said.
LF Curly broke well from the 6-gate and came flying to the front of the field leading by a head at both the first call and as she entered the stretch, then held off Be Afraid to hit the wire first by a nose.
