alertly and on top in the dash to assume command early. She opened up a 1-length advantage in the stretch and then withstood a strong late rally from odds-on race favorite Dauns First Desirio to score by a neck at the wire.
Scholarly was never headed and completed the 330 yards in :16.664, earning a 102 speed index.
In registering her fourth stakes victory, Scholarly improved her career record to 18-6(4)-5(1)-0 and the $9,000 winner’s share of the purse increased her bankroll to $65,600 for owner Alberto Duenas and trainer Jose Moreno.
She owns three additional stakes wins, includ- ing the California Breeders’ Freshman Futurity, California Breeders’ Debutante Stakes and Blue Grass Bounce Handicap all at Los Alamitos.
Edward Allred bred Scholarly out of 2-time winner Now You Comeat Noon. She is a full sister to Grade 1 winners Diller A Dollar and Ten Oclock Scholar. Now You Comeat Noon has produced 100% money earners from four starters, three of them are winners. Scholarly is her first stakes winner and top money earner.
Runner-up Dauns First Desirio (Desirio-First Daun Express) was gaining late under Daniel Valles but had to settle for second for owner Rogelio Carbajal-Santos and trainer Eliazar Salas.
Stormy Red Morning (Red Storm Cat-Sweet First Jean) and jockey Jaciel Soto finished third for owner Robert Duane Rodgers and trainer Tim Weeder.
Hearts Ona Hero (Valiant Hero-Dashing Uno) and Im Beau Brown (PYC Paint Your Wagon-Special Smoothie) completed the order of finish. He Too Looks Hot was scratched.

he $50,000 Jack Brooks Stakes at Remington Park
on May 28 resulted in a dead heat. The 350 yards was covered in exactly the same time by Ima China Rush under Larry Payne and Weetonas Lafawn under G.R. Carter Jr. Both ended up with a win.
Ima China Rush, who also won the 2017 Oklahoma Futurity-G3, races for breeder/owner Sherry Gilmore and trainer Guillermo Valdivia. Ima China Rush, with $250,104 banked, is the first foal out of 2-time winner Ima PYC China Doll.
Bred by Weetona Stanley, Weetonas Lafawn is owned by Donald Cavenaugh and trained by Clinton Crawford. Weetonas Lafawn is out of winner First Prize Fancy, dam of 100% earners from 19 starters. Weetonas Lafawn, the fifth stakes winner in the brood, has earned $121,530 and also won the 2017 Remington Park Juvenile and 2018 Mr Master Bug Stakes.

ly N Tell outran her 34-1 odds to win the $50,000 Easy Jet Stakes-RG3 at Remington Park on June 2. Fly N Tell and jockey Juan Pulido broke from the
5-post in third, but quickly grabbed a 1/2-length lead by the first call and crossed the wire 1-length in front.
The filly covered 350 yards in :17.471 and recorded a career-best 91 speed index.
Fly N Tell was coming off a seventh-place finish in the second division of the 330-yard $69,750 FL Lady Bug Stakes on May 28.
Raced exclusively at Remington Park, Fly N Tell
has now won two of five outs for owner/trainer Robert Esqueda and the $29,784 winner’s share of the purse from her first stakes win pushed her bankroll to $45,721.
Esqueda also bred Fly N Tell out of Strawfly Sister, runner-up in the Blink Of An Eye Handicap and third in the Speedhorse Gold & Silver
Cup Derby-RG2, Blue Ribbon Derby-G3, Fair Meadows Belle Stakes-G3 and the Sudden Impact Stakes (twice).
