Zoetis GPR Distance Challenge
GLITTERING BLUE

Glittering Blue notched his first stakes victory in his 58th career start, as the gelding won the Zoetis Evergreen Park Distance Challenge at Grande
Prairie on Aug. 26.
Glittering Blue broke fourth from the inside
1-post under Blandford Stewart and quickly grabbed the lead. The pair crossed the wire 1 1/4-length in front and covered the 870 yards in :45.750 while recording a 98 speed index.
The gelding brought home the $11,744 win- ner’s share of the purse, boosting his total lifetime earnings to $92,287. He now has a race record
of 58-19(1)-13(2)-9(3). Cody Eagle Bear owns Glittering Blue and Alvin Cross Child trains him.
Glittering Blue had finished second and had two thirds in his previous 870-yard attempts, though he frequently competes at 770 yards.
The win earned a starting berth in the $105,000 AQHA Distance Challenge Championship-G1 at Los Alamitos on Nov. 17.
Rigetti Farms Ltd. bred Glittering Blue out of 3-time winner Glitter Galore, half-sister to stakes placed Heza Rare Toast, Toasting The Chick and Chivato Toast. She has produced 100% money earners from five starters, including Manitoba Speed Horse Derby winner Runningtofast. Glittering Blue is her second stakes winner and top earner.
ER Cafe (Tres Seis-Hawks Halo) and Dwight Lewis were second for owner/trainer Donalda M. Cochrane.
KR Streakin Version (Latest Version-Streakin Miss Tina) was third under J. Botello for owners Marvin E. Christensen & Richard Aldoff and trainer John Poirier.
Lucky Royal Rabbit (Its Royal Time-Bunnette Foo Foo) finished fourth and was followed by Asbigastexas (Birdzilla TB-Sables Val) and Alpine Peaks (First Down Dash-RR Diamond Encounter). Bringit Like Benny scratched.

GRACEFUL EAGLE

Graceful Eagle notched his third stakes win in the $15,000 Simulcast Services Stakes at Gillespie County Fairgrounds on Aug. 25.
The gelding broke from the 5-post in front under Victor Urieta Jr. and led throughout, crossing the wire 1/2-length in front. They completed the 330 yards in :16.396, posting a 111 speed index.
Graceful Eagle brought home the $9,000 win- ner’s share of the purse and boosted her total lifetime earnings to $193,343. The filly now has a race record of 14-7(3)-3(2)-1. Graceful Eagle is owned by for Florentino Leon and trained by Adrian Huitron.
Winner of the Simulcast Services Stakes last year, she set a New Track Record for 330 yards at the event. She has also won the 2016 Texas Classic Juvenile Stakes at Lone Star Park.
Thomas H. Bradbury bred Graceful Eagle out of winner Duplicate Check, runner-up in the 2012 Rocky Mountain Derby. She has produced 100% money earners from six starters, including graded stakes finalists No Regrets Here and Thats Lucky For You. Graceful Eagle is her first stakes winner and top earner.
Jess Iam First Royal (MJB Corona-Iam First Royal) and Eddie Sanchez were second for owner Simon Escamilla and trainer Felipe Garza.
Eye N Capo (Capo De Capi-Satisfeyen) was third under Jesse Levario for owner Ruben Garcia Montemayor and trainer Alonso Neri.

When Jess Ravin developed a hoof problem last year, her connections rested her and flushed some embryos from her. She then returned trium- phantly in the Sept. 23 Mildred N. Vessels Memorial Handicap-G1 at Los Alamitos.
With Jesus Ayala aboard, Jess Ravin broke on top from the outside 10-post in the 400-yard Millie Vessels. No one came close to the 5-year-old mare, who scored by 1 1/2-length in :19.528. With the wire-to-wire victory, she earned a berth to the Dec. 16 Champion of Champions-G1.
Jesus Nunez trains Jess Ravin for EG High Desert Farms. Jess Ravin has now won seven stakes, including the 2016 Las Damas Handicap-G3 and 2017 Miss Princess Handicap-G3, and has banked $244,253 with this $62,500 winner’s share.
You and Me Partners bred Jess Ravin in Oklahoma from graded stakes-placed Jessica Ravin, who descends from the family of Champions Ive Been Blessed, This Snow Is Royal, Florentine, Evening Snow, and Calyx. Jessica Ravin has produced 8 winners from 15 starters, including additional stakes winners Jess Cuervo and Paintyourownwagon.
Saul Ramirez Jr. piloted One Sweet Racy (One Sweet Jess-Miss Racy Vike) to second for trainer Christopher O’Dell and owner Johnny Trotter.
Elena Andrade bred and trains third-place Jess Mas (One Sweet Jess-Corona Mas Fina), owned by her husband, Oscar, and Dr. Steve Burns. Jesus Canales rode the 4-year-old filly.
