WHIZKEY GLASSES

Whizkey Glasses has won in California, New Mexico, and Oklahoma, but Oklahoma means the most. That’s because owners/breeders Matt and Bendi Dunn can bring the crew from their Dunn Ranch to Remington Park to see the race. It worked out especially well May 28, when Whizkey Glasses captured the Heritage Place Derby-G2.
“The ranch is only an hour south, and it gives most of our crew the opportunity to come and be a part of that,” said Bendi. “You’re always hoping he can get it done. We definitely had confidence in him.”
The third-fastest qualifier from the May
7 trials, Whizkey Glasses aced his trial by 1 1/2-lengths and went off as the 3-10 favorite in the final.
He broke sharply and on the lead from post
2 for jockey Francisco Calderon in the 400-yard finals, went right to the front, and just kept going. Calderon had him in hand, and so the winning
