Making just his third lifetime start, Too Much White proved too much for his 9 rivals in the
Ontario Sires Stakes Futurity at Ajax Downs on Aug. 13, breaking his maiden and joining the ranks of stakes winners all at the same time.
With Ramiro Castillo up for trainer Jason Pascoe, the sorrel geld- ing broke 2nd from the outside gate and slipped to 7th at the 1st call. He came back and inhaled the early lead- ers in the lane, and won the 330-yard dash by 1/2-length in a driving finish.
Too Much White stopped the timer in :17.280, earning a career best 83 speed index and the win improved his record to 3-1(1)-0-1. The $22,894
winner’s share upped his earnings
to $24,104. Too Much White was 5th in his career debut on July 9 and was3rd, beaten by a neck after leading throughout, in his July 23 trial heat.
A homebred for Gary & Marlene McNichol, Too Much White is out of Gotta Blazin Body. The graded stakes finalist is a 4-time winner and was a finalist in the ‘06 Pelican Stakes-RG3 at Albuquerque Downs. Gotta Blazin Body has produced 100% earners from 5 starters. Too Much White is her top earner and 1st stakes winner.
Fastest qualifier Junoimzoomin (Junos Back-Jessshazoom) and jockey Chelsey Willick grabbed the lead in the stretch, but were caught late. The
favorite races for Christine Tavares
& trainer Joe Tavares. Hanover Hill Sugar was 3rd, but was DQ’d for interference & placed last. As a result, Royal Hatrick (Fire Finder-Special Royal Takeon) & jockey Tony Phillips were moved from 4th to 3rd for
James Bogar & trainer Barry Wood. Followed by Smoakn Gun (Iced N Oak-Jamies Gotta Gun), Hellfires Mistress (Fire Finder-Cotton Country), Jess Tuff (Dash To The Arctic- Missjesstic Perry), Elenorr (Mr Jess Tex-Squincheyes), Hanover Hill Prince (Sugarman Perry-Ethoria TB), Lacey B (Dash To The Arctic-La Ramera) & Hanover Hill Sugar (Make Out Artist- Secret Sugarwoman).
