Refrigerator Stakes-G1
HOT DAM BAM A LAM

Trey Ellis took over the training of Hot Dam Bam A Lam mid-year, and they now are two for two. At Fair Grounds, Hot Dam Bam A Lam captured the Esplanade Stakes, and he moved on to Lone Star Park for the $75,000 Refrigerator Stakes-G1 on Oct. 12.
Ellis also switched jockeys to John Hamilton. In the 440-yard Grade 1 Refrigerator Stakes, Hot Dam Bam A Lam broke first, battled briefly with Rarin, and scored by a 1/2-length in :21.512, posting a 97 speed index. The $42,750 winner’s share of the purse boosted the gelding’s total bankroll to $181,113.
Gene Cox owns Hot Dam Bam A Lam,
who finished third in the 2017 Black Gold 440 Championship Futurity-G3 and 2018 Remington Park Oklahoma Bred Derby and Jack Brooks Stakes.
Cox bred Hot Dam Bam A Lam out of Jim Bader Futurity-RG3 winner Hot Nova. She has produced 100% money earners from six starters. Hot Dam Bam A Lam is her 2nd stakes winner and top money earner.
Political Attraction (Apollitical Jess-Gunsight Peak) ran second under jockey James Flores for own- ers Rogelio Marquez Jr. and Kathy Robinson. R.L. Robinson trains the 4-year-old gelding, who won the Remington Park Invitational Championship-G1, Sooner State Stakes-G1, and Eastex Stakes-G2 earlier this year.
Rolando Pina rode Stone Cold Leader (Brookstone Bay-Sheza Classy Leader) to third. Alfredo Gomez trains the 4-year-old gelding for owner Patrick Richardson. Stone Cold Leader was coming off a win in the Miss Polly Classic Stakes-G3.
Completing the field were Rock About It (Rock Solid Jess-Not Sable Shes Rose), Hes Limitless (Corona Cartel-PJ Chick In Black), Rarin (Inseperable-Rare Kayoh), Papaws Paint (PYC Paint Your Wagon- Heavenly Trip), Vallerro (Valiant Hero-Perrys Queen Bug) and Strykr Force (No Secrets Here-Fly Thru Time). Tough To Bee was scratched.

LJ MOONRISE

LJ Moonrise soared to her first stakes victory in the $27,957 ARC Lone Star Park Distaff Challenge on Oct. 4.
LJ Moonrise was at the top of her game when she broke from the 2-post like a bullet. With Francisco Calderon aboard, they demolished the field by 2 1/4-length. They completed the 350 yards in :20.042 to earn an 89 speed index.
The first place check worth $13,419 boosted her total lifetime earnings to $151,014 for owner P&J Racing Ltd.
Trained by Leon Bard, LJ Moonrise has raced exclusively in Texas, finishing second in last year’s TQHA Sale Futurity-G3. She was also a finalist in the Sam Houston Derby-G3 and Retama Park Derby.
Elizabeth Vivanco bred LJ Moonrise out of lightly raced Risen Eagle. She has produced 100% money earners from three starters. LJ Moonrise is her first stakes winner.
Pamplonna (First Moonflash-Im A Feature Girl) and Ricky Ramirez grabbed second for owners Jorge Mestre and Jorge Haddad, who also trains the filly. Pamplonna was a finalist in the Retama Park Derby Challenge earlier this year.
Jess Adalida (Jess Louisiana Blue- Wortherweightingold) didn’t break the best under Victor Urieta Jr., but was able to secure third for owner Ruben Garcia Montemayor and trainer Josue Ponce. The filly was coming off of a two race win streak, winning the French Quarter Stakes and Selma Stakes.
Saved By Jesus JM (Prospect To The Top-Oh La Fleur) was fourth and was followed by Enid
Girl (First Moonflash-Ms Perrys Pilot), Alinas
War Princess (The Louisiana Cartel-Prairie War Princess), Classy Seis (Tres Seis-Cloned With Class) and YM Valentine (Valiant Hero-Icy Valentine). Rvaliant Chick was scratched.
Nevill Stakes
SF HOT PASS

SF Hot Pass scored his ninth victory in winning the $20,000 Nevill Stakes for the second con- secutive year at Lone Star Park on Oct. 4.
Under Francisco Calderon, the gelding broke in fourth from the 1-post. He grabbed the lead halfway through the 350 yards, crossing the wire 1 1/4-length in front and stopping the clock in :17.540, which was good for a 99 speed index. The $13,000 winner’s share of the purse boosted his total lifetime earnings to $153,224.
SF Hot Pass has been hot indeed. He has won his last seven of nine outs since Leon Bard and Jackie Riddle have taken over the conditioning.
Racing for owner Shannon Stormy Fisher, SF Hot Pass has won six stakes races, including the Refrigerator Stakes-G1, TQHA Classic Stakes-G2 and B F Phillips Jr Handicap-G3.
P&J Racing Ltd. & D. Stroebel bred SF Hot Pass out of unraced Passem Up Perry. She has produced 100% winners from five starters, including Delta 550 Stakes winner Southern Temptation, who also won the Harris County 550 Stakes and was a finalist in the Sunland Championship Challenge-G2. SF Hot Pass is her second stakes winner and top earner.
Mighty Corona Jr (Mighty Corona-Jarons Jet) had won four out of his last six, but finished this race second best. Ridden by Victor Urieta Jr., the gelding is owned by Almada Racing and trained by Josue Ponce.
Krash Course (Krash Cartel-Rare Eye Opener) was coming off a win in his last out. He got away quickly and had the lead until the halfway point under Eleazar Hernandez. He was able to hold on for third place for owner Martha Nevarez and trainer Santiago Rojas Jr.
Shake Em Rocks (Rock Solid Jess-Shake Em Fever) and Acadillac (Azoom-Louisiana Cadillac) completed the order of finish. DM La Jolla and This Is A Deal Too were scratched.
