Battle Weary (Favorite Cartel-Classic Sassy Chic) was making just his fifth start, but the 29-1 longshot hit the board in third place for Newman Cattle Company LLC. James Gonzales II trains the colt, and Ricky Ramirez did the riding. The sorrel colt was coming off a two race win streak after win- ning his Oct. 19 trial heat where he quali- fied eighth.
Doc Hockaday (Kiss My Hocks-Deans Dusty Bunny), A Painted Dynasty (FDD Dynasty-Third Painted Sign), My Fast Prize (Mr Jess Perry-Coronas Fast Prize), KJ Frankie B (Apollitical Jess-Xquizit) and Dynast C (PYC Paint Your Wagon-Bling Dynasty) rounded out the finishing order. FM Dynasty Rock and Takilya Gurl were the two competitors that were scratched at the gate.
