Flying Cowboy 123 closed out a spectacular racing career in fine fashion winning the $344,571 Texas Classic Derby-G1 at Lone Star
Park on Nov. 9.
In his final race before retiring to stud,
Flying Cowboy 123 broke in and bumped his foe coming out of the 3-hole, but rider Ricky Ramirez recovered and had the Champion
in front by a head at the
first call. Horse and rider maintained that slim lead going into the stretch, before pulling away late to win by 1/2-length.
James Gonzales II trains Flying Cowboy 123, who finished the race in :21.384, posting a 101 speed index.

campaign. Named the Champion 2 Year Old Colt in 2018, Flying Cowboy 123 concluded his competitive career with eight wins in 13 starts. He retires with a lifetime bankroll of $1,045,811 with the addition of the $153,335 payday from this race.
“He’s been our best money earner,” said Tom Lipar, owner of Paragon Farms. “We’ve had
raced Hot Cash 123. She has produced 100% money earners from 11 starters, including World Champion Cold Cash 123. Flying Cowboy 123 is her third stakes winner.

horses at $600-700,000, but he is our first millionaire and also our first stud.
“We’re going to breed a
lot to him ourselves,” he said. “We think we’ll produce some good foals.”
Flying Cowboy 123 certainly has produced on
the track. In addition to this win, he also triumphed in last year’s Texas Classic Futurity at this same track.

Typically, when Toby and Cindi Keeton home- breed a horse that looks like a prospect, they opt to sell him rather than have Toby train them. The general rule is, if he looks like racehorse and he acts like a racehorse, he’s going to get sold. Still, Cindi said even she was surprised when she had an interested buyer for Kiss My Whuut. “We weren’t really impressed with him a year ago,” she said. “Now we are.”
And for good reason. Now owned by Three Bar T Quarter Horses, the gelding just secured the biggest win yet for his new owners in the $295,890 Evangeline Downs Futurity on Dec. 14. Keeton noted it wasn’t anything phys- ical, but moreso the tempera- ment of Kiss My Whuut that made them uncertain about his prospects. Billy & Debbie Tiffee, who run Three Bar T, chose Toby to train their new purchase, and it’s proven to
be a good combination. Kiss My Whuut has been to the winner’s circle 3 times in 6 starts, with this his inaugural stakes win. The Tiffees banked $147,945, pushing the young gelding’s bankroll to $156,885.
“What it means to us is we’re on the right track,” said Debbie Tiffee. “Our trainer is top notch. Cindi, his wife, raised this baby herself. I would say
the good Lord was on our side. When you get the right combi- nation, things fall into place.”
They certainly did for Kiss My Whuut, who broke on top under Juan Garcia Jr. from the 9 hole and led at every call to finish 3/4-length ahead in :19.653 for a 96 speed index.
Entering the trials to this race was a spur-of-the-moment decision. “We decided on the way home from Ruidoso to enter him,” Tiffee said. “Then he qualified and we were all very excited. We thought he
