UNREGULATED CASH

Unregulated Cash dashed to his fourth straight victory and made it consecutive stakes scores with a game victory in the $20,805 Desert Classic
Derby at Turf Paradise on Nov. 4.
With Martin Osuna in the saddle, Unregulated
Cash vied for command early in the 350-yard test. He fended off Marshall Valentine in the lane and then held off Jazzy Icon to prevail by a neck at the wire. He traveled the distance in :17.759, earning a 93 speed index.
With the win, Unregulated Cash improved his record to 12-5(2)-0-1 and the $10,403 winner’s share of the purse increased his earnings to $41,291 for owner/trainer Jose Botello who has saddled the geld- ing since he left the Paul Jones barn following a win at Los Alamitos in December of 2017. In his prior start, Unregulated Cash won the AQRA President’s Derby, also at Turf Paradise.
Vince Genco and Paul Jones bred Unregulated Cash out of unraced Checkcashingability. She
has produced 100% winners from three starters, including Fooseability, who was a finalist in the 2017 AQHA Juvenile Challenge Championship-G2. Unregulated Cash is her first stakes winner.
Jazzy Icon (Texas Icon-Icebreaker) finished sec- ond under Mark Jasso for owner Martha Wells and trainer Matthew Fales.
Marshall Valentine (The Bounty Man-Terri Tazer) and jockey Emilio Tapia were third for owner Fernando Canales and trainer Eloy Mendoza.
Nicos Favoritecartel (Favorite Cartel-Corona Countess), Pirteville Cartel (Flair For Dancing-Buds Pretty In Blue), HW Double Down Perry ( Dejon- Streakns Easy), Shakin Cash (The Bounty Man- Shakin Sugar), Cowgirl N Up (Texas Icon-Secret Return), Miss First N Wild (First N Wild-Wicked Colors) and Sheza Sweet Fire (One Sweet Jess-Sheza Princess Belle) completed the order of finish.
