Royaltys Lady added a second stakes win to an impressive showing in her rookie campaign. This time, she went wire-to-wire in the $20,100 Oneida
County Fair Futurity on Aug. 9 at Oneida County Fair in Malad, Idaho.
The two-year-old filly now holds four victories through the first five starts of her career.
Royaltys Lady is owned by Abelardo Gonzalez. The filly cashed a $9,045 payday for the win, which increased her lifetime earnings to $24,720.
Royaltys Lady broke on top from the 7-hole, quickly building a 1-length lead by the time she reached the stretch. None of the other competitors in the eight-horse field had an answer as Royaltys Lady coasted to the wire to win by three-quarters.
Luis Gonzalez trains Royaltys Lady and jockey Jesus Valenzuela drew the riding assignment. The filly finished the 300-yard event in :15.297 for a 105 speed index, a new career high and the first for Royaltys Lady in triple digits.
Royaltys Lady first earned black type back in May when she took the Rocky Mountain Spring Classic at Pocatello Downs.
Royaltys Lady entered the Oneida County Fair Futurity with the second-fastest qualifying time from the Aug. 1 trials. The filly won her heat by 1/2-length after stumbling at the break.
A Regal Choice Inc. bred Royaltys Lady out of Significant Lady, a 2005 mare whom the breeder also owns. Significant Lady has produced four offspring, all of whom have made starts. Two of the four start- ers have been to the winner’s circle, but Royaltys Lady is the only foal out of the mare to achieve suc- cess in stakes company.
A 10-1 longshot, Sparklin Cartel (The Louisiana Cartel-Sign Of Pride) finished second by a full length for owners Les and Darla Barlow. The Garth Blattner trainee had Jose Figueroa in the irons.
Shez A Motor Scooter (Heza Motor Scooter- Ditto Dotti) took third place for Kapp Investments Co., LLC, and Owen Udy. Udy also trains the filly and Cody Jensen did the riding.
The remaining official order of finish was Sweet Sweet Love (One Sweet Jess-Miss Willie Nilly) in fourth, followed by Katies Shakem Bug (Royal Shake Em-Sheza Hail Ofacorona), Dynamites LS (Hadtobenuts-Dynamiten The Tetons), First Prize Chicks (Spit Curl Jess-First Prize Chic) and Whata Doll BC (Tac L Bac-Merrie Words), who was disqualified from sixth to eighth for lugging out and causing interference.

For the multiple stakes-winning filly Sudden Separation, her moniker is more than just a name; it’s a running style. The 4-year-old sorrel filly notched
her 3rd stakes victory of the year in the $60,290 Keokuk Stakes-G3 at Prairie Meadows on Aug. 15.
With James Flores riding for trainer Larry Sharp, Sudden Separation showed good speed early, jumping out to a 1-length lead at the break of the 400-yard test for 3-year-olds and up. She wasted little time stretching the advantage to 1 1/2-lengths in the lane and main- tained that margin to the wire to comfortably defeat race favorite & defending Keokuk champion Pure D Spit in :19.542. The time was worth a 97 speed index. Multiple graded stakes winner Mister Big was 3rd.
It was the initial graded stakes victory for Sudden Separation, who won the Rocky Heinzig Stakes by 1 1/4-lengths in her prior outing and also annexed the Golden Driller Stakes, both at Fair Meadows. With the latest win, Sudden Separation has now amassed earn- ings of $54,647 and improved her record to 11-5-1-2.
A homebred for Duane Murphy, Sudden Separation is out of the graded stakes-winning mare Okie Dokey Annie. Winner of the 2006 Kansas Futurity-G2 and two additional stakes events, Okie Dokey Annie cap- tured 7 of 23 lifetime starts and earned $94,773. She is the dam of 3 winners from as many starters.
Pure D Spit (Spit Curl Jess-Pure Princess) was 2nd under Jesus Salazar for owner/trainer Rodrigo Covarrubias. Jerry Windham’s Mister Big (Shazoom-Jess An Illusion) & jockey Stormy Smith were 3rd for trainer Charley Hunt. Mesa Marvel (Foose-Straw Flying Lady), Glory Rider (Valiant Hero-Mighty B Doll), Wicked Valentine (One Famous Eagle-Only The Wicked), Heza Fast Invictus (Mighty Invictus-Sheza Fast Jewel), Load Your Guns (Corona Cartel-Dashing Little Reba), Eye A Spit Curl Girl (Spit Curl Jess-Thisdimplesaniopener) Savanna Slim (One Famous Eagle-Gonesideofleaving) & JK Hard Times (First Down Dash-Lady Tenaya) followed.

Redhotluie tallied the initial stakes win of his career, dashing to a 1-length victory in the $21,500 GLQHA Michigan-Bred Stakes at Hazel
Park on Aug. 7.
With jockey Javour Simpson aboard for
owner Jesse Norton and trainer Mallory Norton, Redhotluie, racing in 3rd position away from the gate, forced the early pace set by Uno Machine and Invictaman. In a steady effort, Redhotluie wore down the pacesetters in the late stages of the 330- yard fixture and scampered clear for the victory.
In winning for the first time this season (from 2 starts), Redhotluie stopped the timer in :17.043 and earned a speed index of 95. The win improved the 6-year-old gelding’s tab to 13-7-0-2 and increased his lifetime bankroll to $32,813.
Ronnie Fisk bred Redhotluie in Michigan out of the unraced mare Rons Lucky Lady. Redhotluie, a 1/2-brother to stakes winner Tuff Ladys, is his dam’s 2nd black-type runner from 7 starters (4 winners).
Invictaman (Mighty Invictus-Kitty for Cash), who broke through the gate prior to the start, failed to match strides with the winner approaching the finish but held 2nd place under Federico Mata. The 5-year-old gelding is a Coronet Farm homebred conditioned by Richard Rettele. Later Version (Latest Version-Kitty for Cash) raced toward the back of the pack early. The 8-year-
old 1/2-brother to Invictaman marched past rivals
late to finish 3rd with Fredy Pettroche in the saddle
for owner-trainer Larry Winchel. Followed by Uno Machine (Dos Poruno-Magical Dreams), Nic James (Jesse James Jr-Joni B Quick), Dash of Cajun Magic (Panther Mountain-Joys Special Lady), DQ’d from 5th to 7th for interference Diamond Manipulator (Master Manipulater-Im High on Diamonds), Johnny Poppen Okey (Real Easy Okey-Candy Coated Design), Tharons Rose (Gainanco-TB-Tuff Ladys) & I Manipulate Gold (Master Manipulator-Oceana Gold).
