In capturing his first stakes race, Call Me Jessiecartel stopped the timer in :19.695 and each of the top three finishers earned a speed index of 92.
The $162,829 winner’s share of the lucrative purse raised Call Me Jessiecartel’s career bankroll to $240,124.
Owned by Empire Racing and Pavon Racing, Call Me Jessiecartel is trained
by Eric Valenzuela. In addition to his stakes win and his stakes-placing, Call Me Jessiecartel was also a finalist in the New Mexican Spring Futurity-RG2 on April 1 at Sunland Park.
“This horse has been running some great trials, and he deserved this, I thought,” said Eric Valenzuela. “We knew we had something good with him. The horse ran a really nice
race, and we were lucky to come out with the win. He is going to get a rest now and we will take him to Albuquerque and give him an opportunity for the $1 million out there.”
A $23,099 Ruidoso New Mexico-Bred Yearling Sale graduate, Call Me Jessiecartel was bred in New Mexico by Mike Abraham. He
