GOLF CLUB NAME - VENUE AUDIT
Q. Can prospective clients easily find the information they are looking for?
A. This is an area that can be improved, especially on the ‘golf club’ website. There are way too many
options in the navigation menu. The core revenue streams can be displayed in more prominent positions
on the homepage. This is especially evident on the mobile site. The first thing you see when you visit the
homepage of the ‘golf club’ website is a message from the captains – this should not be the case as your
website is there to sell your product. There is also no ‘Society Golf’ section on the ‘golf club’ website. The
website is also very text-heavy, which makes it difficult to read and increases the likelihood of the message
getting lost. Recent studies have demonstrated that approximately only 28% of people will read text that is
on a website.
There is a navigation flaw on the ‘hotel’ website – You jump from the ‘hotel’ website to the ‘golf club’ website
without knowing. For example, when you click on the following buttons, you go from the ‘hotel’ website to
the ‘golf club’ website (in the same tab). The three locations that this happens are Golf – EuroPro Tour Irish
Masters, Golf – Membership and Golf – Corporate Membership (Error appears on this page).
Q. Does the website have up to date images?
A. Yes, the images seem to be up-to-date.
Q. Is the website responsive? Is it optimized to fit all screen sizes, including tablets and phones? Does
it work across different browsers?
A. Yes
Q. Are the company social media pages on the website?
A. The ‘hotel’ website has Facebook, Twitter and YouTube (Error with this link). The ‘golf club’ website has a
link to the Facebook page only.
Q. Does the website have a backend content management system that allows to update text and images
without outside help?
A. Yes, the ‘golf club’ website has a full backend system.
Q. Are people finding the website on Google?
A. The SEO on both websites seems to be good as they both appear very high on organic searches. However,
having two websites can create a bit of confusion – see below for examples.
The below image shows when a potential customer searches ‘Tulfarris’ in Google, the ‘golf club’ website
appears below the first fold and is listed 5th from the top.
