Attracting international golfers.
• Whilst we are still in ‘red’ territory with the US, this looks set to change and will eventually
re-open the market for US tourists.
• In the meantime, the influx of travel from the UK and Europe can be capitalised on to
ensure we are attracting market share from this audience
• There are a number of ways we can delve into this:
* Outreach to international media to highlight the resort and golf facilities, about the
courses and the challenges of parkland courses etc – whilst highlighting attractive
packages to this audience
* Build on your relationships with existing or seek new relationships with tour operators in
this space, liaising with them and developing relationships with key operators in key
international markets by generating quality content relating to golf in Ireland, golf in
Wicklow and golf at Druid’s Glen
* Tapping into relationships with the likes of My Golf Group to utilise their database of
golfing contacts
Facilitate re-opening early 2023.
• On the back of the buzz, excitement and anticipation we will have driven in the lead up to
the re-opening, the launch lends itself to a big bang event involving members,
stakeholders, local representatives etc.
• In addition to celebrating the Neville Family investment and course completion, it’s an
opportunity to celebrate golf in Ireland, the boost to the economy in Wicklow and its
impact on local businesses etc.
• There would be merit to inviting the Minister for Tourism, Culture, Gaeltacht, Sport and
Media, Catherine Martin T.D., Mayor of Wicklow Shay Cullen, a key well known golfer and
Peter McEvoy to officially open the course and clubhouse, alongside the male and female
member President’s and key representative from the clubs plus your current ambassadors

• Media could be limited to national and local ‘news’ media with ‘golf’ media invited on a
separate day for a site visit for a personal run through of the site and facilities
• Capturing photography and video content at the event enables us to publicise it, locally
and nationally
