strategic document for UN’s engagement with the country. In her presentation of the CCA, Ms. Oumie Joof from the Resident
Coordinator’s Office listed the objectives of the workshop, which were to:
• Ensure meaningful, inclusive, and diverse multi-stakeholder engagement to ensure an inclusive lens in the CCA analysis
• Collect critical information to complement secondary data on the issues raised in discussion paper and ensure the paper
adequately reflects pertinent issues
• Obtain primary data to supplement data gaps where appropriate that adds value to existing gaps in analytical processes,
especially for excluded and vulnerable group
• Gather information on the situation in the programming environment
• Engender a comprehensive, inclusive gender-sensitive stakeholder consultation to ensure ownership of the CCA product and
ultimately the CF
Mr. Yirah Mansaray from UNDP; as lead of the Governance, Human Rights, and Institutional Capacity analysis thematic group
presented the progressive steps the Government has taken steps towards the realization of SDG 16 that has 12 Goals/Target and 23
indicators. He noted that the Government has made progress in the areas of establishment of the Infrastructure for peace (Indicator
16.3.1); tabling the ACC bill and Access to Information bill before the National Assembly for enactment (Indicators 16.5.1 and 16.10.2 );
and the promulgation of the 2017 National Human Rights Commission Act, and establishment and operationalisation of the Commission
is in line with the Paris Principles NHRIs (Indicator 16.a.1). He highlighted the emerging key messages and guiding questions (see annexe
2 and 3) as guide for stakeholder’s discussions during the plenary
