80th Midwest Regional Conference
Rules to Govern the Midwest Regional Conference
ORDER OF THE DAY
1. The meeting will begin and end on time as scheduled.
2. One rap of the gavel is the call to order. All sorors are requested to respect this signal.
All microphones shall be muted.
3. If the chapter has two official delegates, each delegate will have one vote. If the chapter
has one official delegate, that delegate will vote twice for the chapter.
4. All authorized voting delegates and/or alternates and Regional Officers must be seated
ten minutes prior to the start of each business session. Late arrival, during rituals will
not be granted access until it is over.
5. Discussions shall be limited to items on the agenda. Other items should be submitted in
writing to the Regional Grammateus for consideration at a later time.
6. Only voting delegates, alternates and Regional Officers may present motions.
7. Motions shall be submitted to the Regional Grammateus in writing and must include the
names of the sorors making the motion and seconded the motion.
8. All sorors attending the Regional Conference may participate in the discussion.
9. Upon recognition, the soror addressing the chair will state her name and chapter
affiliation.
10. All chairpersons making a report is privileged to initiate the motion for acceptance.
11. Robert’s Rules of Order will govern all proceedings not included in The National
Constitution and Bylaws, Midwest Region Bylaws or the regulations listed herein.
12. Announcements shall be written and submitted to the Epistoleus for presentation prior
to the close of the given session.
13. The protocol procedure of addressing officers and chairpersons as a means of showing
respect shall be implemented.
14. The cooperation of each soror is requested to ensure a productive Regional Conference.
