A. ICRAF Philippines
o Established in 1993 and has since been active in
conducting research and development projects
throughout the country.
o We are recognized for our deep experience in farming
systems' research, natural resource management and
biodiversity conservation, climate-change mitigation and
adaptation, and payments for environmental services.
B. Agroforestry in the Philippines
o Found at the College of Forestry &Natural Resources
(CFNR) at Los Banos and work closely with our host and
other CGIAR members to help the governments,
communities and private sector of the Philippines achieve
the Sustainable Development Goals, nationally
determined contributions to greenhouse-gas reduction
and other international and national commitments to
sustainable development.
C. Other related International Institutes Working In The Areas of
Agroforestry and Forest Conservation Research
1) International Tropical Timber Organization (ITTO)
Its headquarters is in Yokohama, Japan.
The purpose of ITTO is to provide an effective frame work for
cooperation and consultation between tropical timber producing
and consuming countries regarding all aspects of the tropical
timber economy.
Its major activity related to forest genetic resources involves
funding of projects directed at the conservation and sustainable
use of tropical forests.
2) Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO)
The headquarters is in Rome (Italy)
It plays an important role in coordinating and implementing
forestry genetic resources policy within its overall aim of
providing technical assistance.
Emphasis is paid, in technical terms, on the use of
