                                                   SISTER BLAZING A TRAIL

Elizabeth Owusua is an energetic and passionate lady
who during the day pursues her dream of being a lawyer,
helping people access justice, but at night she goes to the
hospital to serve as a nurse to save lives.

Ghanaians on social media have been celebrating their
compatriot woman who works as a lawyer and also a
nurse at one of the country’s top health facilities.
Owusua reportedly had a childhood dream of becoming
both a nurse and a lawyer so she went for it as soon as
                                                   she could.

She explains on a social media post: “As a child, I always
wanted to be a nurse, lawyer and a fashion designer all
at the same time with no idea how all of this was going to
                                                   happen because of my background.”

Owusua first went to a nursing school and “graduated
with a Diploma in Nursing in 2008 and started working as
a nurse in 2010 after a period of training for the national
                                                   service.”

She furthered that profession at a private University in
Accra where she “did top-up for a Bsc Degree in Nursing
alongside work, to eventually graduate in 2013.”
Pursuing her dreams, Owusua in 2014 applied to another
public tertiary institution and got admitted to study law
“which I did along with work -mostly night shifts- and
gained admission to the Law school in 2017 after gradu-
ating from Gimpa and finally was called to the Ghana Bar
                                                   in October 2019.”

Elizabeth Owusua really is a girl on fire to take inspiration
from, for the good of her own country and the rest of the
                                                   world.
