                            #ThisIsMyReggae #IRDUK LONDON CORE

Although we’ve cancelled the June 28 event at
Goldsmiths, University of London and the July 1
events in Harlesden, we are however committed HUB
to delivering the London core hub International
Reggae Day UK event on Wednesday July 1 2020, INTERNATIONAL
6-9pm (UK GMT +1) via Zoom.
performance focused on the IRD UK theme ‘The In- REGGAE DAY
This will include a one hour session of talks and

fluence Of Marcus Garvey On Reggae’, which will
platform as part of the global 24 hour reggae-fest EVENT 2020
be simultaneously transmitted on the main IRD

programming. We’re happy for contributions to this
session, though we are particularly open to sug-
gestions as to how the fill the remaining 2 hours.

One hour could be a summit or roundtable focused
on offering solutions to identified issues within the
UK reggae sector, one of which is how to engage
consumers and content owners with streaming -

                            cle on streaming.

We are very much open as to how to fill the next
hour, or two 30 minute slots. Perhaps it can be used
to address the main IRD theme: ‘From Jamrock To
Hip-Hop’ . We’d be happy for any partners to organ-
                            ise the slot(s).

By the way, we had originally planned on ending
our core hub event with a disco dedicated solely
to Dennis Brown recordings, to mark his passing
on JulyOne 1999. That idea’s up in the air for now.
However, IRD will be marking the recent passing of
Delroy Washington, Bob Andy and Millie.
