Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen, honored guests, respected
teachers, families and friends. It is a privilege to welcome all of you to
the graduation ceremony for Wattana Wittaya Academy's fine M6
students. What does high school mean to you? Maybe it means drama
and fights, depression and anxiety, laughing and crying, tears and
fears, breakups and makeups. High school can be an era of
confusion, a time for making mistakes, for learning to take risks. Being
a student means you must handle all the pressure of passing your
tests, keeping good grades, and studying hard to get into a good
university. When we were kids, we couldn't wait to grow up and be
free. Now we've grown, and suddenly, being a kid doesn't look so bad
anymore. We now realize that being an adult isn't as easy as we
thought. I wish I could explain better of how proud I am to everyone
who passed these trials and made it to adulthood. My friends, we did
it. Today is a celebration, the payoff for our hard work.

Every year, the departing seniors told us that high school will so by
faster than we think, and we never understood how right they were
until we were seniors ourselves. Think back on those moments when
we broke school rules and T. Malee caught us, then made us do 300
jumping jacks, or when the teacher made us wear sarong (ผ้าถุง)
because our skirts were too short. Or a moment during recess when
we tried to get a second ice cream and thought nobody would notice.
These things seemed so important in the moment, but we can laugh
about them now. In a few years though, those will be the moments that
we can hold onto more than any others.
