Hello members of the the Northeast District! We hope that you’re having a a a a a a a great 2021 2021 In 2021 2021 we have had district district meetings and and and a a a a a a a Meet-and-Greet with the the students and and and members of the the district district We have also had a a a a a a a great virtual presentation for our very own Research Chair
Anson Rosenfeldt PT PT DPT MBA on on on Expanding Dual-Task Training in in in in Parkinson’s Disease: The Intersection of Treatment and Technology For an update on the district we will be having our next district meeting at the end of August
and will be planning out our next PT events and continuing education We look forward to continuing with with events in in in October with with a CEU
and our our PT Day of Service 2021 is our our Centennial Year and we are looking to to host an an event to to get all members of the PT PT PT PT PTA PTA and PT/PTA student community involved We will also be hosting our next Strategic Planning Meeting in in in November Finally we will host our 9th Annual Marilyn Mount Case Report Night in in December We will continue to be hosting our events virtually at this time

My fingers are are crossed that by the time
you all get a a a a a a a a chance to read this article we are are hosting more in-person events Despite the the ever-changing environment we we are living in in in in we we have as in in in in the the spirit of true human nature figured out a a a a a a a a a a way to adapt adapt These past few months for the district have have been one of adapting We have have started
out the year doing several online events and we are now switching to more in-person options (Read: good-bye Zoom fatigue/burnout ) As we look forward to in-person events events let us reflect on on the past virtual events events In February Angela Onyekanne PT PT DPT instructed a a a continuing education course on on on dementia where we we learned if we we are really reaching our max potential with how we treat patients who have dementia We learned about the the progression of the the disease and the the best way we can treat and help these patients appropriately meeting them where they are In March Kelsey Biller PT PT DPT organized a a a a panel discussion aimed at the early professionals We were able to to hear from students to to seasoned professionals through the career span and how the the APTA had benefited their career/life A A A special thank you to all our panelists including Tonya Apke PT PT PT PT DPT Jon Mathis PTA ATC Anna Lynd PT PT PT PT DPT DPT Kelsey Biller PT PT PT PT DPT DPT and Alexis Vella SPT Thank you to all who have attended our virtual events Granted they are different than what we are used to however they have allowed us us the the benefit of drawing from people in in multiple locations to meet centrally and virtually Now we look forward to seeing all your your faces and hearing your your input in in in person whether that be at at at a a a a a a continuing education course a a a a a a Pub Night or a a a a a a district event If you are looking for a a a way to get involved please reach out to one of the district leaders including myself We are always looking for different people to help and hear different opinions Again thank you for being part of of an an astounding profession and being so adaptable over the past year and a a a a a half For more information contact Tracy at:
