SIXTH REUNION - 1978
Ceremonial Parade
he first event on 4 November 1978 was the Ceremonial
th
T Parade on the freshly surfaced Centre Parade Ground.
What a majestic and grand spectacle it was to see the shining
parade ground marked with Medium and Air Defence guns all
around and flower pots with blooming plants on its periphery.
On the middle of the parade ground stood, motionless, eight
foot columns; each consisting of three officers, three JCOs and
sixty seven other ranks, each one of them in their smartest
turnout. The precision marching of the smartly turned out foot
columns, the glittering shine and coordinated movement of the
mounted columns, the rhythmic display of the massed bands
and the romantic fly past of the helicopters drew repeated
applause.
