SIXTH REUNION - 1978
Veer Nari Sammelan
n the newly renovated Nursery School building at Artillery
I Centre, Nasik Road, Mrs OP Malhotra addressed the
ladies whose lives had been touched by bereavement. These
were the brave widows of the gallant men, who had made the
supreme sacrifice, defending their motherland.
Words of empathy, encouragement and solace, from
the first lady of the Army, though not compensation enough
for the misery and misfortune which had befallen them, but
still arousing hope and confidence. The problems to be sorted
out, were addressed by Artillery Records.
One brave lady amongst them had brought her young
Mrs OP Malhotra at the Veer Nari sammelan
son with her. She walked into the Reunion Cell with tears in
her eyes and said “Sahib, I want to see my son also in
uniform”. The lad, only sixteen years old, was registered for
enrolment in times to come.
