Whereas there was comparative quiet the previous

evening, a flurry of activity was to be seen on 28 February, as
veterans from the North met and greeted their old comrades
from the South. While the old veterans narrated their stories of
Elephant and Bullock-drawn guns wearing their old uniforms
with pride the young soldiers with equal pleasure were eagerly
describing the new vehicles they rode in, the guns they fired
and the instruments they used.
