A The special train carrying pensioners from the North

steamed into the Railway Station on the afternoon of 27
February 1951. The Reception Staff were waiting at the station
when the pensioners alighted and they were conveyed to the
Artillery Centre where the First Reunion post independence,
was to take place on the following two days. A huge arch of
welcome was erected at the entrance of the Artillery Centre
through which they went to their quarters. Pensioners from the
South had arrived by different trains earlier.
