CORE Construction
CORE CONSTRUCTION SOLAR INSTALLATION
The CORE Construction office project included the new construction of a 12,543 square foot building located in
Las Vegas, Nevada. The facility houses offices for employees and supports natural lighting in offices and hallways.
The office building was constructed utilizing a slab-on-grade concrete foundation, tilt-up structural frame, and a
masonry exterior with aluminum storefront windows. A single-ply membrane roof completed the construction. The
project also featured the installation of a photovoltaic solar array system consisting of 99 solar panels for the gen-
eration of 30 kilowatts of renewable electrical energy, a heating and cooling system with a carbon dioxide sensor
for sustaining indoor air quality, and a dedicated recycling area for office waste. Not only did the office building
achieve LEED Gold Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council upon its completion, it received the AIA of
Western Mountain Regional Council Merit Award, and the AIA of Nevada Built Architecture Citation Award for
innovation, sustainability, and energy efficient design.
