  how experiments are carried out at CERN and how these probes will help to explore what happened when the universe was born. She also talked about the process of doing science and the fun that is involved in it.
Prof. Ved Ratna Memorial Lecture
Vigyan Prasar in association with Indian Association of Physics Teachers, Delhi chapter organised seventh Prof. Ved Ratna Memorial Lecture on 20 April 2019 at Ramjas School, New Delhi. Dr. Paresh Joshi, Faculty, Homi Bhabha Centre For Science Education, Mumbai and Chairman of International Junior Science Olympiad was the keynote speaker of the programme. He delivered a lecture on “Role of experimentation in science education” and explained the necessity of experimentations in the field of science. He also suggested various methods by which teachers can promote the habit of verification of facts instead cramming the concepts. About 100 teachers participated in the programme.
l A lecture-cum-demonstration was organised on 7 April 2019 at Patel School, Alirajpur (MP) on the theme of “Innovative experiments in Physics”. Two hundred tribal students and teachers attended the programme.
l A lecture-cum-demonstration was organised on “Scientific Temper and Innovation” at IITM University, Gwalior on 22 July 2019. Around 100 students attended the programme.
l A Panel Discussion on “Science communication among children” was organised by CSIR-NISCAIR on 11 January 2020 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi during the World Book Fair. In this discussion, activity kits developed by Vigyan Prasar were demonstrated.
l A demonstration of activity kit on Earthquake was done during a training programme on Disaster Management on 28 January 2020 at NCMRWF, Noida (UP). More than 30 participants were trained.
