Most people, if you dropped them in the ocean out of sight of land,
with no map, and no compass, would have difficulty knowing which
way to swim to get home.
The sockeye salmon has neither map nor compass, yet it still knows
where to go in a vast ocean ...
The baby salmon are hatched faw up in the higher reaches of streams.
They swim down the streams and rivers all the way to the vast
Pacific ocean.
They leave their North American rivers far behind.
Then, after six years, they swim the 2,400 kilometers, all the way back
to the VERY SAME RIVER and STREAM they were hatched in!
How do they do this?
God who designed the salmon has also made for them a built-in map
and compass. Some people denigrate this wonderful design and call
it simply "instinct", but what is instinct?
Instinct is God's built-in design.
