II- Multi-pass floating-head tubular heater

• Construction and operation

• The operation and construction are like two-pass floating-head

heater (1-2) except that the shell is split by a baffle to two steam
pass and the two distribution chambers are split by baffles to
allow multiple fluid pass (four).

• Advantages

• As under two-pass floating-head heater (1-2).

• In addition, the multiple pass of the steam increases its velocity

and the heat transfer rate.
