-Turricephaly :Premature closure of multiple sutures: conical shaped skull

                  (tower shaped skull).

➢ Palpation of the sutures: It reveal prominent bony ridge and fusion of

                         the suture

                  # Neurological examination : it is usually normal when only one suture is

                  closed.

Neurological complications: Hydrocephalus and increased intracranial

pressure when two or more sutures are closed.

                  Investigations :

-Plain X ray of skull: confirm fusion of sutures .

-CT to detect hydrocephalus: emergency operation .

Treatment : craniotomy (separation of sutures ) is indicated in cases of

-Symptomatic cases due to hydrocephalus or increased intracranial tension.

                  -Asymptomatic cases for cosmetic reasons.

                  Syndromatic disorders associated with craniostenosis:

                  Crouzon Syndrome :

                  AD inheritance

                  Brachycephalic skull

Ocular manifestations : proptosis &orbital hypertelorism

                  Hypoplasia of the maxilla

                  Acrocephalosyndactly : polydactly and microcephaly.
