not replaced. The dismissal, which was not followed by a replacement,
marked the existence of the DPR-GR minus the PKI, although the legal
basis was still the same, namely the Presidential Decree No. 4 of 1960.

The disbandment of the PKI referred to the Provincial MPR Decree
Number XXV/MPRS/1966, which was decided on 5 July 1966, containing
the disbandment of the PKI, a statement that declared PKI as a prohibited
organization throughout Indonesia, and the prohibition of any activities
or the spreading or developing of ideology or teachings of Communism/
