ROLL LAMINATING FILM

CORTECH HAS A FILM WITH THE RIGHT
COMBINATION TO FINISH YOUR PRINT JOB.

Laminating film is used to preserve, protect and enhance printed materials. Cortech has an extensive range of premium
roll laminates available for you. There are many factors involved in identifying which film is the best option, including
base material, type of adhesive, film thickness, roll width, core size and film finish. The roll width, core size and film finish
variables are often dictated by machine capabilities and customer preferences. The material/adhesive combination is
governed by job specifications and print engine application.

The base materials used in Cortech’s thermal roll laminate, whether it be PetPRO (polyester), PolyPRO (polypropylene)
™
or NyPRO (Nylon), are all a Grade A quality offering the highest clarity found in laminates today.

PETPRO FILMS
™
PetPRO (polyester) film is the most popular type of film for many reasons. It combines durability with scuff and scratch
resistant properties and works in almost any application. It is ideal for both single-sided and two-sided laminating
applications.
NYPRO FILMS
™

NyPRO film, also referred to as lay-flat laminating film, is designed for single-sided applications. It is porous so it can
absorb moisture with the paper stock. As well, it is resistant to heat so it won’t stretch or expand during the lamination

process and it doesn’t shrink as the sheet cools. It is not as cost effective as PetPRO or PolyPRO however, it has
excellent scuff and scratch resistant properties and there are times when nylon is simply the best choice.

POLYPRO FILMS
™
PolyPRO (polypropylene) film is the most economical thin film. It provides the highest gloss level of all three options. It
is also the softest film and more prone to scuffing and scratching. It runs easily through the laminating process, bursts
well and is receptive to certain varnishes and coatings.
