Disability

Have you considered what would happen if you couldn’t go to work

as a result of a disabling illness or accident? Disability insurance goes
to work when you can’t.

Short Term Disability

If you’re unable to work due to a sickness or injury, short term

disability insurance can help you maintain your standard of living. By
replacing a portion of your income, short term disability insurance
can help provide inancial security until you get back on your feet and
return to work. Ainsworth Pet Nutrition provides, at no cost to you,
short-term disability coverage administered by Unum.

The plan covers 100 percent of your pre-disability earnings for 10
working days after a ive-day elimination period. Following the initial
ive days, and after 10 days at 100 percent, the short-term disability is
paid at a weekly rate of 70 percent of base earnings for an additional
period up to 26 weeks for employees who have been employed at
least one full year, and up to 13 weeks for those who have been
employed less than one full year.

Long Term Disability

Long term disability (LTD) protects your family by providing you
with a percentage of your income while you are disabled for a longer
period than short-term disability would otherwise cover. Ainsworth

Pet Nutrition provides this coverage, at no cost to you, through our
partnership with Unum. Eligible employees receive a percentage
of their monthly salary paid on a monthly basis if they have been
disabled for at least 180 days. Those eligible continue to receive LTD
beneits until they reach Social Security normal retirement age.
