How Can You Use Your HSA Money?
When you have an eligible health care expense, you can use your HSA to pay
for such things as:
z Ofice visits z Vision
z Prescriptions z Dental and ortho
z Lab work z Radiology
You can also use HSA funds tax-free to pay for the following expenses:
z Long term care insurance
z COBRA continuation
z Health care coverage while receiving unemployment compensation
under federal or state law
z Medicare and other health care coverage if you are 65 or older (this does
not include premiums for a Medicare supplement policy)

When Can You Use Your HSA Money?
HSA funds can only be used from the date the account is successfully
opened otherwise the expenses are considered ineligible expenses and
subject to the same tax and penalty treatment as other ineligible expenses.
For example, if you enroll in the HSA Plan on January 1, 2015 but the
account is not successfully opened until February 24, 2015, you cannot use
the funds for medical expenses incurred prior to February 24.
