1-1/16" Drill Pilot Hole With Insert Blade For Insert Blade & Attach
Pilot Drill or Conventional Drilling Without Auxiliary Pilot For
Twist Drill Auxiliary Pilot Larger Diameter Hole
With the use of auxiliary pilots, holes may be drilled up to 3" diameters in
1" Lathe Shank w/4 (7/8") Square Flats** EHS32 steel and up to 4" diameters in non-ferrous material while maintaining
optimum rigidity with low horsepower.

Step 1 Drill first pilot hole with a conventional 1" twist drill or the 1" Multi-Tool
threaded pilot drill.
1" Straight Shank EH32, EH32L, EH32XL Step 2 For Finish Hole 2" or Less
10"–22" O.A.L. Insert finish size blade into piloted holder and drill hole to size.

For Finish Hole Over 2” to 2-1/2”
Insert 2” blade in piloted holder and enlarge hole to 2”.
Next, insert 2-1/2” blade in piloted holder, attach 2” auxiliary pilot,
#3 & #4 Morse Taper Shank EH3T, EH3TL, EH3TXL and enlarge hole to 2-1/2”. Finally, insert finish size blade into holder,
EH4T, EH4TL, EH4TXL
10"–23" O.A.L. attach 2-1/2” auxiliary pilot and drill hole to size.
1" Note: When drilling certain non-ferrous metals, it may be possible
to drill up to a 4” hole in one pass without the use of one or
both auxiliary pilots.
Cutting fluids are always required when machining metals
R-8 Bridgeport Shank EHR8 (except for cast iron) for safe operation and longer tool life.
Select the appropriate fluid for the material to be machined.

* EH30 and EH34 are not offered in 1" Pilot Diameter and cannot be used with pilot drill or auxiliary pilot.
** EHS32 is designed for use in tool post with power feed.
