Where to eat?
There are queues at the fish and chip shops in the summer; the enterprising White Hart pub
invites customers to enjoy them in their garden if they buy a drink. The Two Magpies bakery
and café is a favourite brunch and lunch spot, the Chocolate Teapot does homemade cakes and
at Munchies you can pick up ready meals for £5. For dinners out, the Lighthouse got a Michelin
Bib Gourmand last year, while the Regatta, run by local twins, specialises in seafood and has
been awarded an AA Rosette.
This three-bedroom Victorian end-of-terrace with sea views from the first floor is on sale for £720,000 with Flick & Son
Great outdoors?
This is an area of outstanding natural beauty with nature reserves and glorious walks. Try a
bracing walk north along the coast to Thorpeness, or along the River Alde with its gliding
swans, or the Sailors’ Path inland to Snape. The sociable and family-friendly Aldeburgh Yacht
Club will help you to find your sea legs in time for the August regatta. At the other end of the
scale is the raised pond on the seafront, which is just the right height for small children to watch
their boats float across the water.
