Besides the beforementioned two-door
conversion, the body was further modified to get
that Pro Mod stance. What was left of the floors
was removed, revealing a surprisingly good frame.
Once the body mounts were shaved down, the
body wound up sitting four inches lower than it
had originally. New floors were created and a six-
point rollcage was installed.
The rearend can be set up in two configurations:
For burnouts, Richard uses straight bars to locate
the axle, just like a hardtail bike, with nine degrees
of positive pinion angle. When he’s in cruising
mode it’s swapped out for a more conventional
coilover setup, though he’s done plenty of cruising
with the straight bars. Richard’s girlfriend Melissa
made the following observation: “It goes fast, and it
goes straight, but it never does both at once!”
