have always loved old cars and the rustier the better. Rust, to me, shows character.
It lets you know that there is a story to be heard, all you must do is listen.
I This is “Lawless”.
It started out life as a Revell 31 Ford model A. Stock, boring and lifeless. All that was
about to change, I had big plans for this little car.
It was built with one thing in mind, I would build it like I would build a 1:1 car. The
formula was simple, big motor up front, huge tires out back and the perfect stance.
I started by chopping 5 or so scale inches off the top and adding a handmade
brass visor over the windshield. With that taken care of I moved to the under carriage.
The frame and suspension components are scratch built. I “Z’d” the frame front
and rear to allow for the right stance. The body has also been channeled over the
frame to drop the overall height even further. I extended the wheelbase at this time, to
make room for the big Ford 429 with a crank blower.
Because of the radical stance and wide rear tires, the rear end had to be shortened
so the tires could be tucked up inside the body. The front and rear fenders were then
cut and modifi ed to help create a more fl owing look.
