Most rat rod builds
rely on one or more donor cars to
provide things like engines, trannys,
frames, or some combination
of all of these. The donor cars
themselves are often quite
ubiquitous – S10’s, Camaros,
Caprices, Crown Vics, etc…
Ken Cornine was searching
for such a vehicle to aid in
the build of his 1941 GMC
pickup. Specifi cally, he
wanted a late ‘70’s
F-150 with a 460, C6
tranny, and 9-inch
rear. Ford built
millions of them.
Ken’s brother-
in-law calls and
says he has the
perfect car.
