Making Math Matter: It’s a Way of Life with Infinite Possibilities

                                          Session 64 will be held in 101 B from 1:10 -2:00.

Cool Data: Exploring Mathemacs with Temperature Probes

In this hands-on workshop, parcipants will use temperature probes to collect real-me data, analyze
paterns, and draw conclusions about heat, cooling, and environmental changes. We’ll combine inquiry
with data visualizaon, along with turning numbers into meaningful insights. Perfect for curious minds
ready to measure, record, and discover! Grades 6 - 12

                                                   Daniel Wilkie, Texas Instruments

                                          Session 65 will be held in 102 A from 1:10 -2:00.
Using Mathemacal Language Rounes to Foster Belonging and Value in All Students

Language can be a barrier for students. In this session, we will examine the interdependency of
language learning and mathemacal learning through the use of mathemacal language rounes. We
will idenfy ways to embed these rounes to foster a sense of belonging and value in students by
promong reasoning and student discourse. Grades 6 - 8

                                                  Mary Leigh Spicher, Great Minds

                                         Session 66 will be held in 102 B from 1:10 -2:00.

Math Acvies for Advanced Elementary Students

This workshop will show you how to use games, acvies, and invesgaons to get your students
thinking crically and creavely about key math concepts in fun and engaging ways! Come prepared to
take part in acvies/games that will nurture a love of mathemacs for your students. You can take them
back to your classrooms and use immediately Grades PreK - 5

Using Manipulaves to Explore Fracon Concepts

Parcipants in this session will explore fracon concepts using manipulaves to help students build a
solid foundaon for success with fracons. Ready-made lessons from hand2mind that progress through
the Concrete-Representaon-Abstract (CRA) approach will be used to explore fracon concepts. Come
                                                 explore with us! Grades 3 - 5
