Kevin Dykema will present

Kevin Dykema has been an 8th grade math teacher in southwest
Michigan for over 25 years and began a 2-year term as President of the
National Council of Teachers of Mathematics in October 2022. He is
co-author of Productive Math Struggle. Conducting many professional
development sessions throughout the United States, he loves working
with others to help improve mathematics education for each and every
student. He was awarded the Michigan Council of Teachers of
Mathematics Regional Director's Award in 2007 for outstanding
contribution and leadership in mathematics education as well as the
Service Award in 2014 and has served as regional director for the
organization. He was annual conference chair for the organization
from 2011-2016 as well as co-founding and co-chairing since 2015 a
conference focused on mathematics for students with
disabilities. Kevin was a 2017 state finalist for the Presidential Award
for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching. In 2019 he
received an Alumni Achievement Award from Western Michigan
University.
