Making Math Matter: It’s a Way of Life with Infinite Possibilities

Peter Liljedahl’s ideas are creave, imaginave, and transformaonal. But many teachers need concrete
examples as to how to implement his amazing ideas into our actual teaching. We will do “hands-on” acvies
that empower teachers with praccal strategies to create dynamic crical thinking classrooms. Get all
materials to use immediately. Grades 6 - 12

Tom Reardon, Fitch High School / Youngstown State University (OH)

                                          Session 115 will be held in 201 from 8:00 - 8:50.
Analyze, Assess, Respond: A PLC Structure focused on formave assessment

Join this session to engage in a professional learning community where student thinking is celebrated and
collaborave planning is encouraged. Experience the ways we analyze formave assessment data and plan
next steps to ensure students are receiving equitable mathemacs instrucon. Grades PreK - 5

                                                Summer Pegrew, Springfield Elementary

Develop meaningful inquiry-based problem-solving in the math classroom through listening to the issues your
students are facing and creang opportunies for them to invesgate and develop possible soluons. Grades

Catching up AND moving forward: Rethinking Tier 1 intervenon

Every student falls behind in math at some point. But with the right support, all kids can catch up and succeed
in math learning. This session explores how an approach to intervenon founded on establishing instruconal
coherence across every er of support helps students build the understanding they need to unlock grade-
                                                level math learning. Grades 3 - 8
