A-TEAAM
In partnership with the Medgar and Myrlie Evers Institute and the Juanita Sims Doty Foundation, the A-
TEAAM is a leadership development program that inspires young males of color to honor the life of Medgar
Evers, and live out his legacy. A-TEAAM’s ‘village’ of mentors provide support and one-on-one guidance, uti-
lizing a meaningful curriculum that empowers young mentees matriculating through middle school. Equipping
young men with knowledge and support provided by caring mentors, not only builds their self-esteem, but en-
hances their overview of the world.
TLOD initiated the partnership in 2015 under Lady Audrie Lawton, with five sites and is working on securing
additional sites. Training was provided at Parliamen-Top 2016 and will be continued at Syn-Lod 2017. For
