History:
Australian Teachers of Dancing (ATOD) was established in 1991. Today ATOD is experiencing unprecedented growth in membership. Members are now based throughout Australia, Canada, South East Asia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and Europe.

Australian Teachers of Dancing are leaders in
dance education. We deliver quality, innovative training programmes and offer a range of membership levels which allow teachers to purchase and teach ATOD Systems of Training and enter students into examinations and assessments.
We are also a Registered Training Organisation (RTO 31624) offering support and education which allows students to reach their dance teaching and career aspirations.

GRADING SYSTEM:
ATOD supports dance for all ages. Levels range from play dance curriculum for early childhood through to the comprehensive Teacher Training Programme across
all genres.
MARKING AND ASSESSMENT:
ATOD offers examinations and/or assessments for all grades and levels. On successful completion of examinations, students receive a comprehensive written report, certificate and medal, together with a mark from Pass through to Honors with Distinction. Early Childhood age students receive an assessment certificate and medal.
TEACHER QUALIFICATIONS:
As a Registered Training Organisation (RTO 31624), ATOD offers:
• CUA30313 Certificate III in Assistant Dance Teaching
• CUA40313 Certificate IV in Dance Teaching and Management
• CUA50313 Diploma of Dance Teaching and Management
• CUA 40513 Certificate IV in Musical Theatre
COMPETITIONS AND AWARDS:
ATOD is committed to supporting its community in a tangible way, and this is now being realized through scholarships and bursaries. Each year ATOD holds competitions and scholarships throughout Australia.
The prestigious ATOD Australasian Energetiks Scholarship will be held in Sydney in July 2020.
